As the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) strives to form government, party chief Imran Khan’s spokesperson Naeemul Haque on Saturday said the putative prime minister would prefer a public oath-taking ceremony.

‘Imran Khan to be sworn in before August 14’

“IK would prefer a People’s ceremony of oath taking where thousands can watch him take the oath as PM of Pakistan. Perhaps D Chowk area may be the right place to do it. Let’s hope so. Will keep on updating on this.”

The post invited a variety of reactions. While many could barely contain their excitement, other twitterati were not so kind.

PTI votes surged by 120% in general elections 2018

The PTI emerged as the single-largest party in the recently-concluded election results. According to preliminary Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) results, the party secured 115 National Assembly seats.

Our PM needs to be protected at all cost. Utmost VVIP should be provided to him. I’m saying this as a registered tax payer. There are too many enemies in Pakistan against IK.Recommend
