Javed Iqbal chairs meeting at NAB headquarters to review implementation status
ISLAMABAD:
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Javed Iqbal on Thursday directed to implement directives of the Supreme Court of Pakistan with regard to graft cases in letter and spirit.
NAB chairman was chairing a meeting at NAB headquarters. The meeting was attended by NAB's deputy chairman, prosecutor general accountability and other senior officers. According to an official statement, the meeting reviewed implementation status of apex court’s decisions in NAB cases.
NAB to request review of Hudabiya verdict
NAB chief also directed to constitute a committee for ensuring the implementation the directives of Supreme Court ‘in letter and spirit’ and said that ‘no laxity would be tolerated’ in this regard.
He also directed NAB Operations and Prosecution divisions to pursue the under trial cases in respective accountability courts with complete preparation on the basis of solid evidence as per law.
“Besides filing references in accountability courts, looted money would be recovered through vigorous prosecution as per law so that corrupt should be brought to justice and recovered looted money will be deposited in the national exchequer,” the statement quoted Iqbal as saying.
