KARACHI: The nation has been abuzz this week with the General Elections 2018. Many stepped out to cast their votes yesterday and didn't hold back from broadcasting the day's proceedings on social media.

Countless celebrities posted their election selfies and we couldn't help but observe what they chose to wear for the occasion. One thing we noticed was that there seemed to be a theme throughout everyone's clothing - white. A lot of the stars opted for the colour but we're not complaining, as their outfits screamed sophistication.

Here's a roundup of some of our favourite ensembles from the big day.

1. Rabia Butt

Model Rabia Butt shared a picture on her Instagram handle after she was done casting her vote. She was seen clad in a white cotton shalwar kameez with white embroidery all over. What made her stand out though, was her choice of chaadar. The funky piece of clothing added just the right amount of colour to her otherwise plain attire.

2. Uzair Jaswal

The singer-songwriter also wore white - a tang pajama and sherwani, paired with tasseled black leather loafers. Although he kept his outfit pretty simple, it oozed old school class. He managed to accesorise it well, sporting a watch, shades and brooch of the Pakistani flag.

3. Sonya Hussain

Surprise surprise, actor Sonya Hussain also opted for white. Her shirt entailed the same coloured embroidery, adorned with buttons and gathers on the torso. She added a little something with a green and red chuna-hua dupatta, showing her support for PTI.

4. Ayesha Hashwani

Last but certainly not the least is fashion designer Ayesha Hashwani, who was our favourite of the lot. Although she also wore white, there was nothing simple about her attire. The shirt was printed with the various coins of the local currency and the collar was appliquéd with gold and silver embroidered badges. This ensemble was perfect for the occasion and you really can't top that!
