Football: De Gea denies deal with United
MADRID:
Atletico Madrid goal-keeper David De Gea has denied a deal has been struck that will take him to English Premier League champions Manchester United. In a statement released by his lawyer to Spanish media, the highly-rated 20-year-old said he would not consider any offer, either a contract extension with Atletico or any other, until he had completed his duties with the Spanish under-21 team at the end of June. United manager Alex Ferguson told Sky Sports News that the club was closing in on a deal to sign De Gea as a replacement for Dutchman Edwin van der Sar, who will retire after tomorrow’s Champions League final.
