Additional Deputy Commissioner Asma Ijaz Cheema, while speaking to The Express Tribune, said that all efforts have started to borne fruits as women, who were barred to cast their vote for the last 70 years, finally broke the shackles and used their right of franchise for the first time in the country’s history.

She said that a few volunteers took the responsibility of increasing awareness about the importance of vote and went on a door to door campaign. They contacted district administration for the establishment of separate polling stations for females.
Women voters expressed joy after casting their votes. They thanked DPO Khushab and district administration for making special arrangements for females so that they can exercise their right to vote.
