Girls come out on top after matriculation results announced

A total of 154,972 candidates appeared for the examination this year

FAISALABAD: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Faisalabad announced the results of the annual matriculation examination on Saturday.

Controller Examination Shehnaz Alvi said that a total of 154, 972 boys and girls appeared for the examination, out of which 121,623 candidates passed the exam showing a success rate of 78.8%.

Overall first position was shared by a boy and a girl; Rohma Ishaq Chaudhry from the Divisional Pubic School in Faisalabad and Muhammad Omer from the Chenab College in Jhang both received 1,089 marks.

Matriculation examination results announced

Hira Akram from the Laboratory Girls High School and Marwa Asghar from the Chiniot Islamia Girls Higher Secondary School both came in second with 1,087 marks.

Third position was shared by Sameen Asif Sheikh from The Educators Al-Ghafoor Campus, Manahil Fatima from the A W Grammar Girls High School in Jaranwala and Ayesha Khalid from the Divisional Public Girls Higher Secondary School in Toba Tek Singh.

Divisional Commissioner Asif Iqbal, CEO Education Chaudhry Ali Ahmed Sian,and Director Colleges Dr Muhammad Alam were also present during the ceremony.
