Filed through Barrister Mujtaba Jamal, the notice states that PTI’s candidate for NA-78 (Narowal II) tried to damage Iqbal’s reputation on a political talk show aired on a private television network. “Iqbal has served as a public representative four times, has taught at universities and has worked as a management consultant,” said the notice.

It added that Haq levelled corruption allegations including misuse of authority and accepting bribes while granting development contracts.
During a political gathering, the singer also claimed that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader gave Narowal’s stadium contract at Rs7 billion.
The defamation notice demanded from Haq to retract his statements and tender an unconditional apology within 14 days or the plaintiff will look towards the court for relief.
