LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) organised a workshop on an anti-rigging strategy to prepare polling agents for Election Day.

The party launched a comprehensive Anti-Rigging System (ARS) with an aim to expose and prevent such corrupt practices.

Polling agents, social media activists and civil society organisations participated in the workshop.

Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed said that July 25 is a do or die battle which will decide the direction of Pakistan. Either the sanctity of the ballot and the supremacy of the parliament will prevail or the status quo will prevail.

“The people have already made their choice very clear,” he said adding that the events of July 13 made this very clear.

If there is an attempt to forcibly install a political favourite by hook or by crook, the people will resist, he said. He urged the PML-N candidates, workers, social media activists, and lawyers to work together as one team to ensure PML-N’s victory on July 25.

Syed said that the PML-N Lawyers Forum will be instrumental in ensuring the success of ARS since any violations will be resisted by the lawyers and those involved in rigging will also be prosecuted under the law.

Former Law Minister Zahid Hamid Chairman PML-N Election Cell, Ch. Naseer Ahmed Bhutta President PML-N Lawyer Forum a representative of the Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) as well as Atif Rauf, head of PML-N Social Media also addressed the participants of the workshop.
