
Speaking at a seminar on ‘Building an entrepreneurial mindset and culture’, organised by the FWCCI, marketing expert Habib Sheikh emphasised that Faisalabad was an industrial, commercial and business hub of the country and women belonging to the city had entrepreneurial acumen and aptitude.
Looking for encouragement: ‘Female entrepreneurs need support for better results’
However, many of them were handicapped as they could not start their own business due only to domestic circumstances, social values, societal behaviour and paucity of funds. Sheikh pointed out that female entrepreneurs needed manufacturing and marketing facility at the cottage level, like that enjoyed by male businessmen.

They could start manufacturing products in accordance with their financial capacity while marketing issues could be resolved up to some extent by the online marketing system, he said. Sheikh suggested that women, while remaining within their homes, could produce a number of innovative products with minimum investment, which could be sold through the online marketing system.
“This is the most suitable strategy for female entrepreneurs, but it may not be accepted in our society.”
He termed the FWCCI’s establishment a major breakthrough, believing women could exploit the platform in an attempt to become mainstream entrepreneurs.
Planting a ‘SEED’ of entrepreneurship
FWCCI President Robina Amjad said the women chamber was regularly organising meetings, seminars, sessions and symposiums for the guidance and awareness of female entrepreneurs.
“These functions provide confidence to women who could identify their problems and suggest viable solutions to resolve the issues by themselves,” she added.
