The National Assembly seat was formed by merging together areas formerly comprising NA-124's urban population. It also includes chunks from what was NA-130's rural population. The constituency has a total of 354,763 voters of which 197,264 are men and 148,499 women.
166 candidates to vie for 14 National Assembly seats
NA-128 begins from Sukh Nehr Chowk near Shalimar Bagh, and goes up to the LESCO offices and adjoining areas lying east of Karol Ghati.
Areas include Karol village, Jhagiyan, Talowara, Bheni, Awan Dhayiwala, Jandiyala, Bhasin, Dogej, Wagah border, Diyal, Lakhan Sharif, Dograye Kalan, Atokay Awan, Batapur, Manawan, Dera Gujja, Mominpura, Salamatpura, Daroghawala, Akhri Mint and areas north of Lahore Canal.
A total of 248 polling stations would be set up in NA-128, including 48 polling stations each for men and women, and 152 common polling stations. A total of 914 polling booths will be set up in these stations out of which 485 will be reserved for men and 429 for women.

The concept of biradaries maintains a firm foothold in the constituency. The Rajput and Awan biradaries are leading communities in the constituency. A total of 14 candidates submitted nominations, but only eight passed the scrutiny stage. Those contesting include Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's (PML-N) Shaikh Rohail Asghar, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) Ejaz Diyal, Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal's (MMA) Chaudhry Manzoor Hussain, Tehreek-e-Labbaik's (TLP) Dr Ashraf Asif Jalali and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Syed Ali Shah.
In addition, Raheel Hussain, Aqeel Haider Abbas, Syed Manzoor Ali Gilani are contesting as independents.
