LAHORE: Deposed premier Nawaz Sharif, in a prerecorded audio message to his followers, said he has been incarcerated so that he can be kept away from them.

He also said that "daughter of the nation", Maryam Nawaz has also been imprisoned but the people conspiring against us don’t know that no prison walls can relinquish our relationship with our voters.

“Neither has any dictator succeeded in breaking this bond nor will any transgressor succeed in their nefarious plans to crush this long enduring relationship”, said the ousted prime minister. He further said he has left his ailing wife Kulsoom Nawaz behind in a critical condition, “I request everyone to please pray for the health of my wife during the time I am in jail”.

Sharif further said the whole country has been converted into one big prison but we shall break these chains now and free ourselves from this jail.

“We have to get rid of this dirty game which is underway for the last 70 years “, said the PML-N supremo adding that Quaid-e-Azam’s Pakistan has since long been made a land of drama. “For this reason I took up the slogan “Vote ko Izat do” (Respect the vote) thus you must also hoist this flag and be prepared to celebrate a great victory on July 25”, Sharif encouraged workers to ensure a massive triumph for PML-N in the upcoming polls in his audio recording.

“Pass my message on to every nook and corner of the country; defeat those planning against us in such a manner that they don’t dare stand before us again. Stand and spread in a shape of movement as a great victory awaits you”, the thrice elected prime minister concluded his message.
