Photographs shared by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, showed Nawaz and Maryam meeting family, friends and party leaders before leaving for the airport.
Earlier Maryam tweeted the news that her mother Begum Kulsoom Nawaz had opened her eyes for a few seconds on Thursday for the first time in weeks, she also requested her followers to pray for her mother's well-being.

Maryam also tweeted that her children remain defiant against all odds, further wishing them a gloomy farewell just before her departure from the London's Heathrow airport.

According to Express News, journalists sharing the same flight as Nawaz were barred from interviewing the former prime minister during the journey.
Earlier, Maryam Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz’s sons were arrested from outside the Avenfield Apartments for scuffling with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf workers.
An accountability court last week handed down a 10-year jail term to the former prime minister, Maryam was given seven-year imprisonment while Capt (retd) Safdr was sentenced to one year in jail.
