Tribune staffer deprived of life savings

LAHORE: A Tribune staffer was deprived of millions of rupees in cash, jewellery and other valuables after unknown thieves robbed his house in Mustafa Town.

The victim, Rameez Khan who is a reporter for The Express Tribune, lodged a complaint with the police which stated that he and his family were on vacation in the northern part of the country. When they returned home after a week, Khan had found that his house had been broken into, the complaint read.

The suspects had stolen around 39 tolas of gold, a laptop, an LCD TV, mobile phones and cash. They had also not spared their dresses and perfumes, the complaint added. After being informed of the incident, police collected forensic evidence from the scene of the crime and recorded statements. The victim appealed to higher authorities to take notice of the incident so that justice can be served swiftly.
