LAHORE: Schools in Punjab, where polling stations are setup for the upcoming general elections, have been told to ensure provision of facilities such as drinking water and toilets.

The instructions have been sent in a letter written to the District Education Authorities (DEAs) Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) in all the 36 districts of the province, the Punjab School Education Department (SED).

According to the letter: “I am directed to request you to ensure provision of all necessary facilities for instance  functional washrooms, water, electricity and furniture at all the schools which have been notified as polling stations for elections 2018.”

The letter also adds that the above mentioned facilities should also be available even after the end of polling time on the election day to facilitate the polling staff deputed there.
