Interim bails granted to PML-N leaders Chaudhry Tanveer, Daniyal Aziz, Malik Babar and Sheikh Arsalan Hafeez
RAWALPINDI:
Tiger will roar on July 25, said Barister Daniyal Aziz as he walked out of the city courts in Rawalpindi following his bail in the case of an illegal rally of Capt (retd) Safdar the son-in-law of ousted PM Nawaz Sharif.
Three district and session judges Nadia Akram, Ata Rabbani and Hakim Khan have granted interim bails to Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) leaders and election candidates in four cases for hindering NAB officials from arresting Capt (retd) Safdar in the aftermath of the Avenfield Reference case and for staging protest rallies throughout Rawalpindi.
Daniyal Aziz convicted for contempt
The judges granted bail to Senator Chaudhry Tanveer, Barrister Daniyal Aziz, NA-61 candidate Malik Babar, PP-16 candidate Sheikh Arsalan Hafeez, PP-18 candidate Shakeel Awan among 10 other leaders, like Maqbool Ahmed Khan, Raja Mushtaq and Chaudhry Shabbir against Rs50,000 each.
Each of the accused immediately deposited the amount in the court.
Catastrophy awaiting nation if 'sinister' games not stopped: Nawaz
The judges also issued notices to SHOs of Waris Khan, New Town and Sadiqabad police stations and summoned them on July 18 with the direction not to arrest or harass anyone in the said case.
After the hearing, Daniyal Aziz and Sheikh Arsalan, while talking to the media said that these cases were politically motivated and filed out of vengeance.
Arsalan said they were on an election rally and these cases have been registered to halt PML-N election campaign.
