Energy crisis: Power shortfall increases to 2,270 MW

ISLAMABAD: Electricity shortfall in the country jumped slightly to 2,270 MW from 1,910 MW on Tuesday. Total power generation was recorded at 13,762 MW against a demand of 16,032 MW.

According to a brief on daily power generation and load management position, hydel generation stood at 5,457 MW, Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) thermal at 1,706 MW, independent power producers’ provided 6,423 MW and rental power projects provided 176 MW.
