LAHORE: The Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) closed down 5,457 treatment centres across the province, in its current drive against quacks.

Reportedly, PHC teams visited over 11,600 treatment centres and sealed 4,115 quack clinics in Lahore, Faisalabad, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Gujuranwala, Vehari, Bahawalnagar, Pakpattan, Rahim Yar Khan, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Muzzafargarh, Tob Tek Singh and Sialkot.

Meanwhile, the district administration also inspected 2,785 premises and sealed 1,342 businesses belonging to quacks.

PHC has taken action against 13,877 fake treatment centres in the province since initiating the crackdown against quacks.
