It's a known fact that Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's Main Jahaan Rahoon from Namaste London is loved by many around the world. Featuring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, the song is still one of the most memorable tracks to this day.

According to Mumbai Mirror, Rahat has teamed up with ace lyricist Javed Akhtar for an upcoming number that will be featured in Vipul Shah's next, Namaste England. The song will be picturised on Arjun Kapoor as he plays the male lead in the film opposite Parineeti Chopra. Titled Tu Meri Main Tera, the song is currently being recorded in Dubai.

Speaking of his experience with Rahat, composer Mannan Shah said, "It’s a pleasure to have recorded Tu Meri Main Tera with Rahat sahab, I’ve always been a big fan of his voice.” He added that the two have worked together earlier in Commando - A One Man Army and Saawan Bairi. "Our next association had to be a special one and what better than Namaste England,” added Mannan.

He mentioned that while Main Jahaan Rahoon will always be a special track, the makers wanted to experiment with a slightly different flavour this time. “We have tried a unique style which Rahat sahab has also explored for the first time. He was excited about singing something so new and fresh,” explained the composer.

Tu Meri Main Tera is not the only song from the film that is being sung by a Pakistani artist. Atif Aslam has been roped in to croon a romantic number as well. Mannan shared, "Atif was always my first choice for Tere Liye. I adore his voice and he’s sung a quintessential romantic song. Javed sahab has written a wonderful song and it’s one of his personal favourites too."

Earlier, India had imposed a ban on Pakistani artists working in the country. While tensions between the two nations have been on the rise of late, Rahat has never stopped lending his voice across the border. Since the ban, the Dillagi singer has been keeping up with his commitments in India. He either works from the Middle East or sends his tracks across digitally.

After Rahat's concerts were cancelled in India last year, the singer spoke to the media. He said that a country could impose a ban on artists but no one could stop music from travelling across borders. He said, "Art should always unite, never become the reason to divide. You can impose a ban on artists but you will never be able to suppress their voices. A true artist's voice will travel far and wide, no matter what the circumstances."
