ANF seizes 589kg of narcotics in three strikes

Conducts raids in areas of Chaghi, Quetta and Panjgur

QUETTA: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) personnel seized 589 kilogrammes of narcotics from three separate areas, including Chaghi district, Quetta and Panjgur, on Thursday while one smuggler was arrested.

According to an ANF spokesperson, following a tip-off, in the first incident, the ANF personnel carried out a successful search operation in Zard area of Chaghi district and seized 480kg of narcotics which were covered in Nalla by unidentified smugglers.

The ANF spokesperson said the seized narcotics were supposed to be smuggled in the country. In the second raid, a drug smuggler was arrested along with 9kg charas near Sada Bahar terminal on Sariab Road by the ANF personnel. On information, the ANF personnel also recovered 100kg opium from the Kalag area of Panjgur district during a raid. Further investigation is under way.
