KARACHI: Another seven-year-old girl was brutally raped and murdered in Faisalabad on July 3. A few days ago a young boy was raped near the same city by sex maniacs. In recent days we have been witnessing a rapid rise in such cases in the country.
The country has not yet forgotten the rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl in Kasur. Why such cases are occurring in the country at a regular interval. Few of the culprits have been arrested and are being tried by courts of law. Many terrorists are being hanged in the country, but the beast in man does not show that its appetite is being satiated. Considering the grave situation with regard to rape of women, girls and boys, the government and sociologists and psychologists should pay attention to this urgent issue. Why is it that our country is so full of Humbert of the novel Lolita by Nabokov?
