MIRANSHAH: Security forces have imposed a limited curfew in the Lower Boya tehsil of the North Waziristan district.

The curfew was imposed after anattack on the political muharar in the area. A search operation was also launched in adjacent villages.

Political Muharar Muhammad Rehmat Hussain’s convoy was attacked on Monday when it was on a routine patrol in the Landi Muhammad Khel village.

The attack resulted in the martyrdom of two frontier corps personnel and injured four others, including Hussain.

Muhammad Rehmat Hussain had also been attacked and injured back in 2010, an attack in which Tehsildar Amanullah was killed.

A few weeks earlier, his son Hamidullah was attacked in a similar ambush and was shot dead in the district.

Meanwhile, in Bajaur district, two prisoners tried to escaped from Khar headquarter prison, but authorities foiled the attempt.
