The court has admitted the petition and a hearing is set for July 2. The court has also issued notices to all parties named in the writ petition.
Dr Mehraj and others, who had filed the petition, urged that all the appointments and transfers made in the Institute on and after May 31, especially those after a ban imposed by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), should be declared as illegal.
They contended that since the ECP’s decision had been honoured by the Supreme Court of Pakistan, appointing Dr Salma Aslam Kundi as the Dean of Ayub Medical College by its board was a clear violation of the standing orders further some postings and transfers with new appointments in lower cadres are also to be declared illegal and void.
