Wake-up call for Pakistan

Letter July 01, 2018
Today the most serious issue for Pakistan is of water shortage

TORONTO: We cannot live without water. India has cut down a major water supply share of Pakistan and in the next few years, the water crisis in the country will likely deepen further. Today the most serious issue for Pakistan is of water shortage. Besides, domestically, due to poor conservation practices 85 per cent of rainwater flows into the sea. The government should mull over the subject of the Kalabagh dam or even possibly conduct a referendum to seek the opinion of the majority. Water-related issues need to be dealt with urgency otherwise Pakistan will even lose more to its hostile neighbour.
