RAWALPINDI: The Election Commission of Pakistan on Saturday allotted tickets to candidates contesting for National Assembly and provincial assembly seats from Rawalpindi.
Former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has been allocated the symbol of a jeep to contest the elections from NA-59, NA-63, PP-10 and PP-12.

Former federal minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has been allotted ink pot to contest from NA-60 and NA-62.
All Pakistan Peoples Party candidates (PPP) have been allotted the arrow as their electoral symbol while Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) candidates have been allotted a lion as the party's election symbol.

On May 29, the election commission had asked political parties to submit applications for election symbols by 25 May. It also asked political parties to ensure that they fulfill all legal provisions to get election symbols for the polls. The provisions included an affidavit stating they will allot at least five per cent of general seat tickets to women.
