LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has reunited a 15-year-old girl, who was recently rescued from an abusive marriage, with her six-month-old daughter, her lawyer said.

Justice Malik Shehzad Ahmed Khan of the LHC was conducting the hearing of a habeas corpus petition filed by Allah Rakha for the recovery of his daughter Farzana. At the last hearing on Friday, the Kanganpur station house officer (SHO) had brought Farzana to court after recovering her from the custody of Rehmatullah.

Farzana said that Rehmatullah had kidnapped her 18 months ago and forced her to sign a nikah nama. She accused him of torturing her with electric shocks and keeping her locked up in the house. She had also asked the court to recover their baby daughter Fatima.
