Lahore Zoo to have ‘dinosaur park’

Management approves construction of project at a cost of Rs11.53 million

LAHORE: The Lahore Zoo management authority has approved the construction of a dinosaur park and a virtual reality entertainment project at the cost of Rs11.53 million.

This was announced in a meeting presided over by Lahore Zoo Director General Ayaz Khalid.

The Dinosaur Park will be set up in two phases and work on the project will start this year. The project will kick off on a build operate and transfer basis (BOT). Khalid directed officials to place advertisements in the newspapers about the Dinosaur Park and a cinema, while also telling them to start negotiations for the virtual reality entertainment centre. He urged them to come up with ways to maximise revenue from these projects.

Moreover, Khalid also approved an honorarium for guards who executed their duties on Eidul Fitr. He announced giving the employees and officers Rs3,000 per capita without any discrimination. He formed a six-member committee before granting final approval to the employees for their services roles.

The committee will submit a report in the next 15 days and review service roles. Muhammad Naeem Bhatti was named as the committee's convener.
