Seven-year-old girl raped in Faisalabad

Police claim to have arrested the accused

FAISALABAD: A seven-year-old girl was allegedly subjected to sexual assault in Faisalabad’s Islampura area on Wednesday.

An official of City police station told Express News that the victim, H*, went to a shop owned by 50-year-old Faqeer Hussain to buy some items. He added when the girl reached the shop, Hussain forcibly took her to his house and raped her.

He stated that after committing the heinous act, the suspect escaped from the scene, leaving the girl injured.

He added that when the victim raised a hue and cry, people from the neighbourhood reached the spot and shifted her to a local hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the police official said that medical reports confirmed that the girl was sexually abused. He added that a case had been registered against Faqeer Hussain and the accused was taken into custody.

He maintained that during interrogation, the accused confessed to committing the offence, while further investigation was underway.

Earlier, a 14-year-old boy was sexually assaulted in Mianwali. Police told Express News that Z* lodged a complaint at the police station in which he stated that his 14-year-old son, a resident of Alam Khailanwala, did not return home after going out to run an errand.

He said that they heard screams coming from nearby fields and saw Atif Khan and Amir Khan sexually abusing his son.
