Discriminatory verdict

Letter June 28, 2018
Courts have ruled in favour of US President Trump, who stands victorious to implement the legislation banning Muslims

KARACHI: This time around the courts have ruled in favour of US President Trump, who stands victorious to implement the legislation banning Muslims from Muslim states on account of terrorism. Excluding Iran, the other four countries are stricken by poverty and are dealing with the worst of history’s war and humanitarian crisis.

Regardless of the fact that no significant link has been established between Muslims and incidents of terrorism in the country, the ban is only a slap in the face of the notions of cultural diversity and acceptance that America since long has stood for. The policy would in fact reinforce even strongly a discriminatory sentiment and opinion against Muslims in the country.
