Formula milk producers left in conundrum
A team of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Food Authority was stationed on the highway overnight following a tip-off received through the complaint management cell. They managed to inspect a loaded vehicle and two empty vehicles which were returning from Peshawar.
According to a statement issued by the authority on Tuesday, a tanker carrying 15,000 litres of milk was intercepted. During the subsequent inspection, it was discovered that the milk in the tanker had been diluted with 32.25% water while the fat level was four per cent.

Officials subsequently imposed a fined of Rs300,000 on the tanker which was received on the spot.
Kohat Assistant Director Kamran Khan said that such operations would continue to ensure supply of safe and pure milk to the capital of the province.
He further said that Kohat is the main route of these milk suppliers while the authority stationed office at Kohat will remain active to check on these suppliers.
A truck loaded with papadom was also inspected for carrying improper documentation.
