Status remains unclear

HYDERABAD: We have the news Hafiz Saeed and his son are to contest the upcoming elections, but the status of Hafiz Saeed’s party and of many other banned political groups remains unclear. Initially, on the instructions from the interior ministry, the ECP refused to accept the nomination papers of the former. However, now as per reports both will be contesting from a few of Punjab’s constituencies.

As the reasons for the initial refusal remain under wraps, the reaction from the international community is yet to be seen, which has been asking Pakistan to take decisive action against such outfits.
