At least one person died and four others injured during a brawl over shortage of plates at a wedding ceremony in India's Uttar Pradesh state on Sunday,  Hindustan Times reported.

“The guests arrived at the ceremony Saturday night where some of them were served snacks and other eatables. After some time, it was found that no plates were left to serve food to the invitees, which angered the people and led to heated exchange of words,” said SHO Maniyar Nanhu Yadav.

Indian HC barred from entering gurdwara

“Some people clashed, leaving five persons injured,” Yadav added. “The injured were taken to a nearby hospital where one of them succumbed to injuries while being taken to the hospital.”

SHO Yadav further added that investigation is underway.
