HYDERABAD:
The Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) has demanded the transfer of the bureaucrats who were posted by the former Sindh government of Pakistan Peoples Party out of the province. "It is evident that the caretaker government is the PPP's own," said Ayaz Latif Palijo, GDA's general secretary, at a press conference in Hyderabad on Saturday.

He was flanked by former Pakistan Muslim League-Functional MPA Nusrat Sehar Abbassi and PPP-Worker's Naheed Khan. "Hundreds of policemen escort Bilawal Bhutto Zardari [PPP] in Larkana while the PPP candidates in Hyderabad, Badin and many other districts are given protocol by several police mobiles," he alleged. "The Zardari league is employing all methods of rigging [the elections]."

He requested the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Chief Election Commissioner and the provincial election commissioner to take notice of the matter. The GDA leader asked the caretaker Sindh government to explain why it was giving the impression that even this setup belonged to the PPP.

PPP will not accept ‘censored, puppet democracy’, says Bilawal

Speaking about the recent reshuffle in the Sindh Police and district administration bureaucracy, Palijo said the officials from one district of Sindh were transferred to another. "Only their districts were changed, not the province. How can they ensure transparency when they [the officials] have been used by the PPP for corruption for the last 10 years?"

He went on to allege that the officials appointed for the election monitoring committees did not appear impartial. The GDA leader requested the CEC and PEC to post the bureaucrats from Punjab and KPK to Sindh to ensure fairness.

Palijo also asked the National Accountability Bureau to explain why its actions against corrupt politicians and bureaucrats had suddenly come to a halt. Naheed Khan said the caretaker CM Sindh Fazlur Rehman has remained a part of the PPP's alleged corruption. Nusrat Sehar Abbassi said they witnessed rampant rigging in the 2013 elections when Zakat funds were allegedly used to buy votes for Zardari league.

How can they ensure transparency when they [the officials] have been used by the PPP for corruption for the last 10 years?"
