NAB approves inquiries against political administration of tribal areas

Regional board of NAB also gives go ahead for inquiries against railways officials, Kohat district administraion

PESHAWAR: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chapter of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to launch inquiries against officials of political administration South Waziristan and Khyber districts for embezzlement of funds.

The regional board of NAB gave approval of inquiries against the political administrations along with officials of Railway Estate Development and Marketing Company (REDAMCO), Tehsil Municipal Administration Takht-e-Nasrati of District Karak, District Administration Kohat over corruptions and corrupt practices.

The board meeting was headed by K-P NAB Director General Farmanullah Khan and was attended by directors, deputy prosecutor general (DPGA), case officers, and other officers concerned.

The Board authorised inquiry against officials of Railway Estate Development and Marketing Company (REDAMCO) and others. The suspect are alleged to have illegally rented out of 48 shops at Karkhano Markets Peshawar in complete violation of rules.

NAB K-P received 3,775 complaints, recovered Rs12.4b

The Board authorised inquiry against officials of TMA Takht Nasrati and others regarding corruption and corrupt practices. The subjects are alleged to have illegally awarded execution contracts of water supply schemes in District Karak.

Another inquiry was authorised against officials of District Administration Office Kohat regarding misuse of authority. The subjects are alleged to involved in double payment for different development projects in gross violation of law.

The board authorised an inquiry against the political administration South Waziristan and Khyber Agency regarding embezzlement of funds. The subjects are alleged to have embezzled Agency Political Welfare Funds.

Another inquiry authorised against officials of Forest Sub-Division Mingora & others regarding corruption & corrupt practices.  The subjects are alleged to have illegally sold state land in Swat.

Beside these, the board approved supplementary reference against Arshad Pervez, Nadeem Pervez, of Sky Pharmacy Peshawar regarding cheating public at large.

DG NAB (K-P) vowed that as per directions of NAB Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal who has ordered and is determined to do across the board accountability on the basis of solid evidence as per law. He further said that eradication of corruption is not only our social and moral obligation but it also ensures prosperous future of our future generations.
