QUETTA: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Thursday booked five people, including an Afghan national, for their involvement in human trafficking.

Four persons, whom Naimat was supposed to smuggle to Europe via the Pak-Iran border in Balochistan, were also arrested from Baleli. They all hailed from Punjab.
FIA lodged cases against them under Prevention of Smuggling of Migrants Act 2018. It is the first case lodged in Quetta under the act.
One of the FIA officials said, “The four detained citizens of Punjab were in contact with Waqas alias Muhsin Baloch, who had given them Naimat’s number with specific instructions to reach Quetta and meet him.”

During the raid, fake identity cards, mobile SIMS and passports were also seized from Naimat. While scrutinising his cell phone, it was revealed that he used to send Afghan and Pakistani nationals to Europe via Panjgur and Gwadar regularly.
The detained persons are in FIA custody and being investigated.
On the directions of the Balochistan FIA DG, the Anti-Human Smuggling Circle has intensified its operation against human smugglers throughout the province.
