Three-year terms: UET gets four new deans

Four senior professors were on Thursday handed the charge of deans for different faculties at UET Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Four senior professors were on Thursday handed the charge of deans for different faculties at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar. Having a tenure of three years, the posts were finalised by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, who is also the chancellor of UET. According to a notification issued by the K-P Higher Education Department on Thursday, Jhagra made the appointments under Section-12B(2) of the K-P Universities (Amendment) Act 2016.  As per the notification, UET’s Professor Dr Naeem Arbab has been appointed as the dean of the electrical and computer engineering faculty. Prof Dr Abdul Aziz Irfan has been appointed as the dean for the faculty of mechanical, chemical and industrial engineering. Prof Dr Akhtar Naeem has been appointed as the dean of the civil, agricultural and mining engineering faculty. Prof Dr Sirajul Islam has been appointed as the dean of the faculty of architecture, allied sciences and humanities.
