ISLAMABAD: This is with reference to Ammar Zafarullah’s article of May 29 titled ‘The need for reforms in Fata’. I agree with the writer completely. Indeed, the primary prerequisite in the creation of lasting peace is the initiation of development interventions. Unless concrete efforts are made towards the social, political and economic development of the affected areas, there is little reason to hope for sustainable peace to prevail in Fata in the long run.
