ECP announces monitoring teams

SHO of areas concerned and officials from the district and tehsil administration will also accompany teams

BHAKKAR: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced four monitoring teams for the upcoming general elections which will ensure implementation of the commission’s code of conduct.

The deputy commissioner was appointed as the district monitoring officer, while four teams for PP-89, PP-90, PP-91 and PP-92 were also formulated.

The SHO of the areas concerned and officials from the district and tehsil administration will also accompany the teams. In a meeting, Bhakkar Deputy Commissioner Syed Bilal Haider said that candidates ignoring the ECP code of conduct will be fined Rs50,000 on the first violation, and on the second violation, a reference for disqualification wil be forwarded to the ECP.

However, the candidate can file an appeal against the decision within three days. If no appeal is filed within the given time period, the candidate will be disqualified.
