MIRANSHAH:
Unidentified assailants stormed Lucky Circus Peace Fair in Miranshah, North Waziristan, leaving a man dead and two others seriously wounded in the wee hours Thursday.

The attack came when the song and dance had just begun. The attackers first hurled a hand grenade causing a commotion and then opened fire.

The deceased was identified as Mali Khan who succumbed to bullet injuries. One of the two wounded circus staff members being said to be in a critical condition.

The attackers then proceeded to distribute pamphlets denouncing 'indecent activities' at the circus, sources said.

The pamphlet clearly said: "Those found in violation will meet a similar fate; such vulgar programmes will be completely banned."

On March 24, 24 people were injured after a hand grenade was hurled towards the stage of a spring festival event in Dera Ismail Khan.

The victims included children as well as two FC peronnel.
