The election tribunal, comprising Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh, passed the order on an appeal moved by Shah Zaid against the rejection of his nomination papers. The high court tribunal also turned down the appeal of JUP-Noorani leader Faiz Mahmood against the rejection of his nomination papers for NA-137—Kasur.
LHC orders registrar to consolidate petitions
LHC's election tribunals have started hearing of appeals against decisions of returning officers at the principal seat and other benches. Four appellate benches, comprising Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi, Justice Faisal Zaman, Justice Ali Akbar Qureshi and Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh, will take up appeals of the candidates of constituencies in Lahore, Faisalabad and 21 other districts.
Two benches comprising Justice Qazi Muhammad Amin and Justice Viqas Rauf will hear cases at the Multan bench, Justice Masood Abid Naqvi at the Bahawalpur bench and Justice Ibad-ur-Rehman Lodhi at the Rawalpindi bench.
