Moreover, Tariqullah’s performance as parliamentary leader of his party in the National Assembly was also outstanding as he introducing the most bills and put up 42 calling attention notices (CAN), moved 60 resolutions, and put forward 114 starred questions and 146 unstarred questions. He also spoke in the lower house 113 times on points of order. Meanwhile, Qamar, as parliamentary leader of the PPPP, introduced 26 private member bills, moved 29 resolutions, participated in proceedings on 85 occasions, and spoke in the house 93 times on points of order. He also put forward 30 starred and six unstarred questions. He had four motions to his credit under Rule 18 besides one adjournment motion and 11 reports.

Interestingly, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s supremo Nawaz Sharif were among the leaders with the lowest performance in terms of legislative business and participation in proceedings. Figures revealed by the FAFEN showed that their performance was nearly identical.
Sharif scored a five with regard to participation in proceedings while the deposed prime minister only spoke to the house on four occasions on points of order during his term as leader of the house. He also is credited with only one resolution on his name and the same is the case in his participation in proceedings of motions under Rule 18, Likewise, Imran submitted only two starred questions and spoke in the house only nine times on points of order. His participation in proceedings was recorded at just seven, while he introduced only three private member bills in the house.

Meanwhile, MQM-Pakistan’s Dr Farooq Sattar introduced 15 legislative businesses in the House and spoke on 40 occasions on points of order. His score in participation in proceedings stood at 24 and he also moved six resolutions. JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, an ally of the PML-N for the full five-year term of the House, spoke 19 times on points of order besides moving 11 resolutions. His participation in proceedings was recorded at 18.
Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, who was also a federal minister in the Sharif cabinet, introduced five legislative bills besides moving four resolutions.
