PFC to participate in US furniture show

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Furniture Council (PFC) will participate in the International Apparel Sourcing and Furniture Show in New York, commencing from July 23, and display world-class handmade furniture products to attract foreign buyers and investors. PFC Chief Executive Mian Kashif Ashfaq said in a statement the association’s participation in the show would help furniture-makers to explore new markets and further strengthen bilateral ties with their counterparts in the furniture industry. America is the largest market for Pakistan’s export-oriented furniture industry. With a 70% slice of wooden imported furniture, Asian suppliers are ahead of the competition. Ashfaq was of the view that there was an ample chance of increasing furniture exports as demand for furniture and wooden products were on the rise in the US and European markets along with among domestic consumers.
