Hospitalised for eight months at Hartley clinic in the British capital, reports on Tuesday morning said her health deteriorated further and she was placed back on the ventilator.
Kulsoom was born to a Punjab-based Kashmiri family in 1950 and graduated from the then Forman Christian College. She served as the second Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president from 1999 to 2002.

The former first lady "dauntlessly challenged the usurper when a lot of men backed out," daughter Maryam once remarked. A pivotal member of the PML-N, Kulsoom ensured the party remained active in testing times.
She took up public office despite her failing health. Kulsoom secured 59,413 votes, defeating Yasmin Rashid of the PTI in the 2017 NA-120 by-election.
On August 23, 2017, UK doctors confirmed Kulsoom had blood cancer. Nawaz and Maryam had been making frequent trips to check on her. Kulsoom was placed on a ventilator after her health deteriorated on June 15.
The deceased leaves behind four children: Hassan, Hussain, Maryam and Asma.
