BNP issues show-cause notice to Farzana Baloch

Leadership says she joined interim cabinet without party’s consent

QUETTA: The central leadership of the Baloch National Party (BNP) has issued a show-cause notice to Farzana Baloch, a member of the party, for her decision to join the caretaker cabinet as a provincial minister without the permission of the party.

BNP’s Agha Hassan Baloch said, “Farzana Baloch is a member of the BNP. She joined the caretaker cabinet without the consent of the party; therefore, the party has issued a show-cause notice to her.”



The show-cause notice stated, “It has been mentioned by Senator Jehanzeb Jamaldini that despite the prohibition of the party’s leader Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal you took oath as a caretaker minister in provincial cabinet which is breach of party discipline.

Now you, Farzana Baloch, as a member of party are liable to give a written answer to the show cause to the party within 15 days. In failing to do so, the party will take strict action in this regard.”



Farzana Baloch was inducted in the 11-member cabinet of caretaker Chief Minister Alauddin Marri as the only female on Tuesday.
She was allocated the portfolio of minister for social welfare, population and women development on Wednesday.
