Power cuts in K-P

Letter June 12, 2018
Citizens should take matters into their own hands and vote for a party that has fulfilled its promises

PESHAWAR: For the better part of 72 hours, the city of Peshawar, Mardan and Hazara divisions were in the dark owing to a prolonged power outage. While Wapda was blamed for the power outage, citizens of the abovementioned districts suffered without electricity in the hot and humid weather during the holy month of Ramazan.

Power outages for long hours have become a frequent occurrence and all the power providing companies or the politicians do is blame one another. This time around the PTI has blamed the PML-N and is set to stage a protest on June 11th. But besides that, nothing substantial is being done to ensure this from not happening again.

Citizens are the only ones who pay the price of an acute power shortage while politicians who promise to curb the menace of load-shedding reside in their generator-operated air conditioned homes.

Come general elections, the citizens should take matters into their own hands and vote for a party that has fulfilled its promises.
