Litmus test

MULTAN: Amidst conflicting news reports PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif may and may not contest from the three constituencies of Karachi. For reasons best known to him and his party, it can be assumed that with other political parties having a strong foothold in Karachi, the PML-N presumably backed off foreseeing its defeat in Karachi.

However, where other less than expected candidates have come forward to contest from Karachi, given that they too had no such support from the city, the PML-N should field its contestants from a few constituencies in Karachi, as a litmus test to its party’s position in the city.
