LAHORE:
Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi took a picture with police officials after he was served with a traffic fine on Monday

The erstwhile premier’s vehicle was stopped by Motorway Police near Lahore’s Ravi Toll Plaza and fined Rs750 for speeding. The car, however, was being driven by Abbasi’s driver, Syed Maqsood.

After being issued a speeding ticket, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader obliged a request by the police officials for a picture.

Following the Supreme Court verdict disqualifying PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif for life, Abbasi was elected prime minister by lawmakers in the National Assembly on August 1 after bagging 221 votes. He previously served as the petroleum minister.

The former premier's short stay in the PM House ended simultaneously with the government completing its five-year constitutional term on May 31.
