Theatre in Punjab has only thrived with over half a dozen of plays being shown at one specific time
LAHORE: For some time, Punjab’s theatre houses have been hosts to a specific class of audience with its crass and vulgar theatre plays and obscene dance performances of female theatre actors. Yet surprisingly, the industry in Punjab has only thrived particularly in Lahore city with over half a dozen of plays being shown at one specific time.
Recently the provincial home department has taken commendable action against producers and actors of such plays that have kept families away from theatres. It is hoped that quality plays will be staged in theatres which families can watch and enjoy. Thus we can see a revival of quality theatre in Lahore.
