Most countries began the holy month of Ramazan in sync on May 17. The Meteorological Department anticipates the Shawwal moon to be sighted on June 14. Multiple parts of the country, however, may witness clouds and mist.

Sales of prayer-related items bring windfalls to street vendors in Ramazan

Last week, the Met Department predicted Eid on June 16. Talking to The Express Tribune, an official said there were slim chances of the Shawwal moon being sighted on the evening of June 14. Therefore, there is a high chance of Ramazan lasting 30 days and Eid being marked on June 16 nationwide. In case the estimation proves inaccurate, Eid may be celebrated on June 15.

Fitrite | 6 years ago | Reply In my opinion govt must change its notification with the addition of one more day i.e. Thursday 14 june, 2018 also. The addition wil be helful for those who need to go their home town to celebrate eid. Most of employees booked trains tickets earlier. Holidays must be from thursday to monday.
Alsahdiq | 6 years ago | Reply The chances of sighting of new crescent in Karachi on the evening of Thursday June 14, 2018 if not impossible, is a bit difficult. However powerful telescope if available may be helpful and should be tried. On the evening of Thursday June 14, 2018 the age of moon at sunset will be 18 hours 39 minutes. It will be 7 degrees above the surface of the earth. The separation between the moon and the sun will be at 11 degrees. The moon will set 38 minutes after sunset so plenty of time for hard searching. Good luck. Eidulfitr in Arabia and all countries west from thereon is highly expected to fall on Friday, June 15, 2018.
