Follow-Up: Experts inspect 163 stolen artifacts

HYDERABAD: A four-member team of experts inspected the 163 artifacts caught by the Jamshoro police near Petaro Toll Plaza at the Indus Highway, on Friday. These antiquities include coins, five guns, four swords, a shield from Sindh’s Talpur era and statues of Buddha.

Qasim Ali Qasim, Irshad Ali Rind, Abdul Haq and Muhammad Tanveer, from the Moen jo Daro Museum, said that the antiquities were not stolen from any museum but had been stolen from different places and the accused were arrested while trying to sell them.

Since the pieces were of historical importance, they should be placed in a museum.
