Hafeez cleared by PCB over ICC comments
All-rounder clarifies his comments, which were suggestions, were taken out of context
Veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez appeared before a three member Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) disciplinary committee on Tuesday to explain his position in response to the show-cause notice issued to him over his remarks against the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) dealing with suspect bowling actions.
Hafeez criticised the ICC for their part in dealing with objectionable bowling actions which led to the PCB issuing the all-rounder a show-cause notice.
The 37-year-old appeared before the committee, which comprised of three members — Director Cricket Operations Haroon Rasheed, Director Media and Co-ordination Amjad Hussain and General Manager Legal Salman Naseer — and clarified his comments, where he claimed that his remarks were taken out of context and that his interview was all about suggestions regarding how to improve bowling action tests.
The committee accepted Hafeez's explanation which means there will be no further action taken on the matter.
